We will never forget our incredible experience being in London for the first time in our lives.
We are from Cleveland Ohio in the United States and we wanted to embark on an unforgettable adventure to explore all that London had to offer in more ways than one.
We went to the West End to see some movies, we wined and dined at a nearby Nando’s and then we went on the River Thames for a beautiful late night cruise on a boat. It was magical and an unforgettable experience.
We had been together for over 5 years at this point and this trip was the icing on the cake for us to get engaged.
I proposed to her on the London Eye. It was so cheesy and awkward, because we were up there with other tourists taking in the beautiful view of this wonderful city.
We stayed at the wonderful Park Plaza County Hall Hotel because everything we wanted to achieve as we visited London for the week, this hotel ticked all the right boxes for us as soon as we arrived at Heathrow Airport.
We got a taxi or cab as they say in London straight to the hotel, which only took 20 minutes, which was great considering the long flight. We were welcomed at reception by the concierge with open arms at this beautiful hotel.
We just got there in time for breakfast, so we quickly put our luggage in our room, which was absolutely beautiful. We went back downstairs to the breakfast room and sat down to eat some lovely English breakfast.
We decided to jump in the gym quickly to work off the heavy breakfast we had before we made our way out to the Westminster Pier next to the River Thames.
We decided not to go out on our first day in London because of the breakfast, the gym making us too tired and plus half the day had already gone so we stayed in our room until 8pm.
We went down to the bar to have a few drinks together, then went into the restaurant where we had the special of the day, chicken I believe it was and it was absolutely divine.
Going forward to the day before we were booked to leave the country and go back to the United States, we decided that we would check out the London Eye, London Aquarium & London Dungeon as it is just 5 minutes walk from the hotel. We wanted to take in the last gasp of our moment together in London to savor just in case we would never be able to return to London again.
We were getting extremely emotional because it was the most spontaneous journey we had been on together, and it got tearful for a second or two and that was when I proposed to her, which at that time, there was no better moment to ask her to marry me.
Of course she said yes and now we are happily married and have 2 kids now, so that place is definitely magical and we cannot wait for the day when we can take our children with us to experience London for themselves.
